Blue Balloon Day will occur on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008, in conjunction with World Asthma Day but schools may choose to celebrate on a different day. With support from the Utah PTA, and www.onlinestores.com, elementary schools across the state of Utah will participate in this event by wearing the color blue to school, signing a pledge, and popping(or releasing) a blue balloon. Our goal is to make this an annual event in elementary, Junior High and Middle Schools, and High Schools across the state. In time we hope that this event will become a national occurrence.

Governor John Huntsman Jr. has declared May 6th, 2008, Blue Balloon Day.

Click here to Show/Hide Details What is the purpose of Blue Balloon Day?
The purpose of Blue Balloon Day is to educate children about Asthma, encourage children to stay tobacco free, and to promote clean air. Because 61,000 children in Utah alone suffer from asthma, our goal is to educate children and their parents about this growing problem and how they can help manage their children’s lung disease.
